The Cheese Cave Offers Artisan Cheese and Specialty Foods

There are a variety of gastronomic offerings on the Jersey Shore, but none are as unique as the experience of being treated to the best cheeses from around the world. Located in the heart of Red Bank, NJ is the gourmet cheese shop, The Cheese Cave serving the finest and hard to find imported and domestic cheeses, as well as cured meats, assorted olives, roasted tomatoes, fruit preserves, chutneys, honey, crackers, brick oven breads and confections.

Owner and Chief Cheese Monger, Stephen Catania brings 20 years experience in the hospitality industry to The Cheese Cave and his philosophy of service excellence and passion for food and drink are evident in all they do. His staff takes great pride in hand cutting all their cheeses to offer a personalized experience tailored to individual taste. They firmly believe that every cheese has a story and they appreciate the opportunity to share those stories with their customers to give us a greater appreciation of true artisan cheesemaking and all its flavors.

With terms such as earthy and piquant used to describe the flavors of some cheeses, the complexity of cheese is an art to appreciate. Of course, you don’t need to know any of these terms in order to buy and enjoy a cheese you like. To help their clients navigate the nuances and subtleties of this specialized fare, The Cheese Cave staff are always eager and willing to lend their expertise on the subject.

Be sure to also try one of their many popular sandwiches. Brick oven breads, tasty spreads, and tantalizing cheeses and meats are hard to pass up when visiting during lunch (or any hour).  There is on-site seating for your convenience or you can take out.

The Cheese Cave also offers gift baskets and custom cheese boards. Call ahead to order their “Coolers for Two,” which is a hand-packed assortment of cheeses, olives, crackers, nuts, cured meat, and sweet treats, in an insulated cooler with ice pack.

Serving their evening crowd, The Cheese Cave offers weekly $5 Fridays. Hosting a culinary sampling of cheeses and specialty foods for $5 per person every Friday from 5 – 8 p.m., these evenings are the perfect opportunity to meetup with friends or a date before dinner, a movie, or show in Red Bank, NJ. Bring a bottle of your favorite wine, and they’ll provide the glasses.

In response to their customer’s desire to further explore and dig deeper on the topic, The Cheese Cave hosts Cheese 101: Cheese Training classes to educate students on how to properly categorize cheese styles and pair wines. These classes make great gifts for the cheese lover in your life.
