Restaurateur and Chef George Lyristis, along with his brothers Taso and Charlie, of Bistro Boys Management have attracted foodies to the Jersey Shore with great management, exciting events, and, most notably, the fantastic service and innovative cuisine served at their award-winning neighborhood restaurants, Teak, The Bistro at Red Bank and ZOE Bistro. Their reputation and reviews do not disappoint.
With the acquisition of Teak in 2011, the team brought a fresh flavor to downtown Red Bank, NJ with the restaurant’s Asian-American, fusion cuisine and casual, yet refined dining experience. The cool contemporary, Far East inspired decor has a metropolitan edge in its materials and finishes providing the perfect backdrop for groups or individuals looking to be immersed in a chic ambiance. The lounge-like atmosphere is a great place to enjoy drinks with friends, while seated at a comfortable bar with an extensive wine and sake list with reasonably priced bottles and glasses to choose from, plus enjoy specialty cocktails expertly mixed by their knowledgeable bartenders.
Teak’s menu features a creative assortment of warm and cold plate appetizers filled with fresh ingredients that will suit any palette. Customer favorites include the pan seared pot stickers in sesame soy ginger sauce, French onion soup dumplings with mozzarella and croutons, BBQ Korean tacos with marinated short ribs, kimchee and napa cabbage for the hot plates. Popular cold plates feature a large selection of seafood salads such as the zesty seven spiced calamari with green apples, cashews and miso lime dressing as well as the peppered tuna over mixed greens with sesame ginger and the Asian caesar with its special twist to the traditional salad. Other cold plates from the sushi bar include the tuna ceviche and the slightly spicy yellowtail jalapeno cilantro with yuzu and soy sauce among others.
Well known for their artfully crafted sushi and sashimi creations, Teak has come to be regarded as the leading destination for the freshest, most inspired signature rolls. Highlights such as the black mamba with its black rice, shrimp tempura, banana tempura, avocado and spicy lobster salad are enough to satisfy the most discerning taste while an offering of other, more simple rolls, will please the sushi newbie.
Hot entrees round out the menu with a pad thai that’s impossible to top, complete with tamarind and peanuts while the mouthwatering, miso brushed Chilean sea bass is soft, flaky and cooked to perfection. For the meat eaters, the grilled skirt steak with Asian chimichurri and yucca fries along with the specialty Teak burger made from their own blend of beef, aged white cheddar, yuzu and topped with all the trimmings is sure to please.
If you’re looking for the delicious tastes of Asian-inspired cuisine in an always-buzzing atmosphere that is both stylish and comfortable, then visit Teak Restaurant in downtown Red Bank, NJ. The restaurant is walking distance to local stores and performing arts and movie theaters so make an evening out of your stay in Red Bank and cap it off with dinner and drinks at Teak.
