10 Things to Do At The Jersey Shore This Weekend

We know it’s all about the Super Bowl this weekend, but there’s plenty of time to have fun before the 6:30 kickoff on Sunday evening.

We’ve got two whole days and nights to fill up before the big game, so we want the Super Bowl to be the cap on your already “super” weekend.

With our picks, you’ll be grooving, laughing, painting, drinking, and jumping into the freezing Atlantic!

# 1: Absurd Person Singular at Two River Theater, Red Bank

This is your last chance to laugh-out-loud with the cast of Absurd Person Singular at Two River Theater as they get ready for their final showing this Sunday, February.

Enjoy a pre-show dinner from Puglia of New York off their special theatre menu. Yes, its the same family from Puglia in Little Italy! Another pre-theater dinner option is dinner at Danny’s Grill & Wine Bar.

Get ready to laugh your heart out as you follow three English couples dealing with their relationships, social standings, and the pressures of three successive Christmas gatherings.

#2: Soft Opening at Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten

This weekend, the long awaited Festhalle will be opening its doors to “locals only,” who will enjoy over 20 import taps and countless bottles. We’re sure the beer list will please everyone from the casual beer drinker to the aficionado.

#3: Release Party and Concert at Asbury Lanes

Take your Friday up a notch by making it a night out in one of the most musical towns, Asbury Park.

Start it off right with a classic Italian dinner at Brando’s Citi Cucina, then head over to Asbury Lanes to join World/Inferno Friendships Society as they celebrate the single release of This Packed Funeral at 8pm on January 30th. Hailing from Brooklyn and led by Jack Terricloth, the band merges punk, soul, and jazz and features an array of musical instruments including horns, piano, violin, sax, and guitar.

#4: Brush & Brew

Bring your artistic talents to light with a little help from the professional teachers from Around the Corner Art Center. Let your inner artist out while you create a beautiful painting at Brush & Brew on Friday, January 30th at the Colts Neck Fire Company #1 from 7-11pm.  To encourage you to use your full artistic abilities, Belford Brewing Company and Monmouth County’s very own 4JG’s Vineyard in Colts Neck will be offering complimentary food, wine, and beer.

#5: Paul Marino Band at Harpoon Willy’s

If you happen to be in the Manasquan area on Friday night, be sure to join one of the Jersey Shore’s favorite bands, Paul Marino Band, at Harpoon Willy’s at 9:30pm. Or drive a short distance to the Manasquan downtown, stroll around, and maybe enjoy some appetizers and cocktails at Remington’s lounge before ending your night listening to some late night jams.

#6: Sean Donnelly at Uncle Vinnie’s Comedy Club

#7: Mummenschanz at Count Basie

Join the St. Francis Community Center in Long Beach, Twp. as they do their best polar bear impressions while taking the plunge on Sunday, February 1 in Long Beach Twp. All proceeds benefit the St. Francis Community Center and Southern Regional High School, so you’ll feel warm on the inside even though the rest of you may experience some minor frostbite.
