Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten- A Game Changer on The Jersey Shore –

Over the last decade, Beergardens (or Biergartens as they’re properly called) have been popping up across the New York Metro area. After first appearing in Queens, Williamsburg, Jersey City and Hoboken, we’ve been patiently waiting for one to open somewhere along the shore. Enter Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten!

Located on Lake Ave in Asbury Park, Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten will wow you before you even walk in the door! And once you step in the door, it hits you; this place is legit! From the distressed wood tables, German decor, etched glass, antique brick, right down to the concrete floors, Festhalle spared no expense in creating authentic experience, straight out of Deutschland!

With over 20 import taps and countless bottles, Festhalle’s beer selection will please the casual beer drinker on up to the beer afficianado. There was even an expansive menu of Schnapps – something we’ve yet to see at the shore!

And the food! At some other biergartens we’ve been at, food is clearly an afterthought. That is not the case at Festhalle! Our plate could barely contain our Bavarian Pretzel that came with a dill cheese to dip in, and a mustard that we can only describe as the best we’ve ever had! Our Fried Brie appetizer was the perfect medley of flavors that left us in awe.

Since it was a friends and family night, we were given one simple instruction when ordering our entrees; we all had to order a different entrée for dinner. A very easy task considering the expansive menu. Two different orders of Schnitzel, a Beef Goulash & a Ruben later, we were beside ourselves. Each entrée was plated perfectly, with a medley of flavors that all complimented each other. We very easily would come just for the food.

Between the atmosphere, beer selection and food; Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten truly is a game changer on the Jersey Shore! We look forward to the warmer weather and clinking together some steins of beer on their expansive rooftop deck. Prost!
