Catch restaurant, located on 9 Broad Street in Red Bank, NJ, opened in mid-December to a packed house of 200 family and friends. All were excited to taste the BYOB’s diverse menu of succulent seafood, mouthwatering meats, delicious sauces, and freshly prepared desserts. Experience the culinary expertise of Executive Chef and co-owner Dominick Rizzo and his interpretation of classic seafood coupled with signature style and sophistication.
Catch’s menu changes according to what’s in season and delivered fresh to the kitchen. But if there is a fish that you’re craving, inform Chef Rizzo as he’s been known to take special orders on request. Exceptional service and personalization are what sets Catch apart from the sea of competitors.
“I have a passion for serving the freshest seafood and cuisine possible,” says Rizzo. “I will gladly share the recipe for any dish created at Catch. Our professional open-air kitchen, friendly service, fresh fish market, and raw bar menu offer diners an authentic culinary experience. Guests will want to dine with us again as well as make the very same dish they enjoyed at Catch for themselves at home. I want to inspire a love of fresh, honest, flavorful cuisine. ”
Chef Rizzo is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and has trained under celebrity Chefs Mario Batali, Daniel Boloud and Gianni Scapin. He has worked and opened restaurants in Italy, New York City, and Florida. Catch is his newest and most exciting venture, where he combines all his acquired knowledge and techniques into an exciting menu.
Succulent starters include tender baby cockles and mussels in a warm serrano and jalapeno broth; crab cakes chock full of jumbo lump crabmeat; an overflowing seafood tower; PEI mussels in spicy crazy water with arugula; sliced steak with chimichurri over crostini; and crispy calamari with citrus aioli and roasted whole prawns. For lunch and dinner create your own meal by selecting one of their fresh catches like Atlantic tuna, Chilean sea bass, bronzini, salmon or meat including a ribeye steak and tomahawk pork chop. Compliment your fish or meat by choosing from sides like roasted squash, arugula and horseradish whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus and nine signature sauces like the shallot vinaigrette, basil bernaise, lemon caper or montreal butter. The mix of flavors is endless and personal.
“All the food speaks for itself. We’re not using a ton of sauces that mask the favor of the fish,” says Chef Dominick Rizzo. “We’ve been told at the tables that the food is excellent quality, not over seasoned and perfectly showcases our dishes.”
You’ll also want to try Catch’s prepared specialty dishes, which include clam linguine topped with baby cockles and mixed clams; day boat scallops pan seared with maple vinaigrette and caramelized butternut squash; mesquite-rubbed tomahawk pork chop with wild mushrooms and sweet port demiglace; tender petite filet’s topped with a cool crab cocktail and sweet basil bernaise; and a spicy eight herb salmon served over a fennel, cilantro, cucumber and lime salad; and more. Catch’s raw bar also features specialty items like seabass sashimi, king crab cocktail, a wide range of oysters, clams on the half shell, beef crudo, and tuna carpaccio.
All decadent desserts are made on-site. Candied nuts and wild berries and pecan crusted French toast with caramelized bananas and cognac whipped cream or the butter pecan ice cream and whipped cream drizzled with fresh brewed espresso end the evening on a very sweet and satisfying note.
For private events, Catch has a second floor dining room that accommodates up to 70 people and features a plasma TV, private restroom, professional catering staff, and a menu that can be customized to budget and taste. The room is perfect for any affair, and its newly renovated décor delivers a modern esthetic with a touch of elegance.
Recently, the owners of Catch also opened Gotham, a speakeasy-style lounge and gallery at 19 Broad Street. Gotham offers Red Bank visitors a cosmopolitan venue to enjoy regular comedy performances; jazz and DJ shows; and a variety of signature cocktails and art. Mingle at Gotham and when your table is ready, Catch’s Open Table app will alert you by text.
Catch and Gotham’s investors, Joseph Squillaro, Colin Dudick and Dr. Ted Kutzin, are raising the bar for culinary innovation and service in the region, and their clientele are taking notice.
