As the temperatures continue to rise (and hopefully not go back down), the list of things to do this weekend at the Jersey Shore heats up too.
Our favorite pick this weekend is a throwback to one of our favorite bands, Sublime. Check out Jenks Club’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration with Badfish on Saturday night. There’s also plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors with yard sales, food fests, spring festivals, and even dog events.

40th Annual Ocean County Fishing Contest

Cost: $2 entry fee for children under 16, $4 ages 16 and up
Description: Cast your line in and enter the 40th Annual Ocean County Fishing Contest this Saturday. Do your best to reel in the biggest catch as your fish in any of Ocean County’s freshwater lakes and rivers. Register and weigh in at Lake Shenandoah County Park and wait to see if you’ve got the catch of the day.
14th Annual LBI Surf Bass Tournament “Simply Bassing”
Date: Saturday, May 2nd 6:00am – June 27th 6:00pm
Cost: $20 Registration
Description: Set a goal this spring to take home the grand prize of $1,000 and by bringing in the biggest catch of the year. This Saturday kicks off a spring contest to see which fisherman can bring home the golden bass. Register at participating tackle shops including Captains Quarters, Fisherman’s Headquarters, Jingle’s Bait & Tackle, and Surf City Bait & Tackle. Now go fish!
Fair Haven and Red Bank Yard Sale

The 5th Annual Toms River Food Fest

Description: Step outside in downtown Toms River to enjoy the 5th Annual Toms River Food Fest. Enjoy your favorite street fair dishes from BBQ to seafood and of course, funnel cakes. Seaside Heights Job Fair

Spring Arts Festival at Thompson Park

Description: Spend the weekend with the Monmouth County Parks System as they host a free two-day, juried show featuring local artists’ works in pottery, photography, jewelry, painting and other media. And if it’s a nice day, be sure to take a walk around Thompson Park. It’s beautiful this time of year!
