Hot Rods and Food Trucks Take Over Seaside Heights
Classic cars and food trucks will take over Seaside Heights from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m for the 2nd Annual Hot Rods and Food Trucks event June 20. The event, sponsored by the Seaside Heights Business Improvement District and iRunNewJersey, will feature hundreds of hot rods on display at Bay Boulevard. The car show will feature everything from 1930s Fords to Camaro Clubs, and everything in between. Fifteen of the best gourmet food trucks will line Bay Boulevard, with plenty of variety to satisfy every taste bud. Admission to the event is free. There will also be vendors and exhibitors showing their wares and demonstrating new products and services to participants.
This is the second year for the Hot Rods and Food Trucks event. Last year’s event drew huge crowds and featured trucks serving empanadas, brick oven pizza, barbeque, cheese curds, shave ice, and even a truck serving sandwiches with not bread, but potatoes. This is exactly the type of interesting, unique food you can find at food truck events like this one, so don’t miss out!
The Food Network was even present at last year’s event, filming a segment for a new show that focused on rescuing the food truck business.
Trophies will be awarded for Best in Class and the Best in Food. Music will be provided by a DJ.
If you’re planning on visiting the Seaside Heights for this fun-filled day of cars and food, there are several different options for parking that offer an easy stroll to the boardwalk. There is a large parking lot as you enter Seaside Heights from Route 37 (four blocks from the beach) and parking is free. There is also metered parking from the beachfront to Central Avenue. Meters accept quarters only. Private lots can also be used and costs vary from day to day.
Visitors will want to be sure to bring cameras to remember this great event! Also, bring your sunscreen and comfy shoes, since you’ll want to stay all day to sample the variety of different foods!
