Garden State Wine Growers’ Barrel Trail Weekend

Garden State Wine Growers’ Barrel Trail Weekend

The Garden State Wine Growers Association invites you to take a trip to New Jersey’s wineries this weekend for the Barrel Trail Weekend. This annual event is a chance for you to catch a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes of your favorite Garden state wineries.

The weekend of July 18th and 19th, you’ll be able to visit popular wineries across the state from down south to up north to see just what it takes to actually run a successful winery during the Garden State Wine Growers Association Barrel Trail Weekend.

“Barrel Trail gives winery patrons the opportunity to taste wine as it develops, very often with the men and women who ferment, blend, barrel, and bottle it,” said John Cifelli, Executive Director of the Garden State Wine Growers Association. “For anyone who wants to get a special taste of wine making and get a behind the scenes peek at how wineries operate, Barrel Trail is a can’t miss weekend in NJ wine country.”

Wineries all across the state will be participating in this annual event that really is a once in a lifetime (well at least once a year) opportunity. You’ll be invited behind the cellar doors to taste test some of the more recent wines that are aging in those beautiful barrels on premises. Chat with your vintner as she describes just what is going on in the aging process at that point, maybe what flavors will settle down and which ones will be stronger as the aging process continues. It’s your chance to become a little bit of an expert on wine yourself!

Not only can you taste test exclusive wines straight from the barrel, but you’ll also be invited to exclusive vineyard walks, winery tours, and more. At Working Dog Winery in Highstown, enjoy live music as you take a self-guided tour of Working Dog Winery’s 17 acres of impeccable vines. Enjoy taste tests straight from the barrel of the 2014 estate grown Cabernet Franc and the 2014 estate grown Reserve Chardonnay. If wine barrels and dozens of food trucks sound like a good time, visit Laurita Winery in New Egypt as they celebrate the Barrel Trail Weekend with smooth wine and tasty bites.

Other New Jersey wineries throughout the state will be participating in the Garden State Wine Growers Association’s Barrel Trail Weekend by complimenting barrel tastings with new wine releases, discounts, food pairings, and much more. This weekend is definitely going to be an event to remember!
