Spend one last summer day on the beach at this weekend’s Seaside Heights Wine on the Beach Festival.
Locals and tourists are invited to enjoy the wine, food and entertainment on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5:00 P.M. Attendees are guaranteed two relaxing afternoons in the company of other local wine lovers.
Ten of New Jersey’s finest wineries will be providing the beverages for the weekend. Sip your favorite vintage and experience the magic of the Garden State Philharmonic on Saturday and Strumberry Pie on Sunday. There will be food to satisfy everyone’s appetite, from the casual fare of Bubba’s Doghouse to the artisanal offerings from Hemingway’s Cafe. Have some dessert from the Shake Shoppe Arcade, or pick up some coconut shrimp from Park Seafood.
One of the most enriching aspects of the festival is the array of local artists and craftspeople who will be displaying and selling their work. Sample some homemade snacks and purchase one-of-a-kind jewelry as you work your way through the vintages from each winery. Think of it as an art gallery show with wine, except outdoors on the beach.
The main event on Saturday is a Grape Stomp with Lucy! Reenact those hilarious wine-making scenes from the classic show I Love Lucy. People of all ages can participate in this part of the festival.
For a once-in-a-lifetime experience, take a short art class from the Green Lace Lion. For just $15, attendees of the wine fest can paint a beach landscape on a small canvas to take home with them. Art and wine go hand in hand, but rarely does one have the opportunity to enjoy both of them in this manner.
Advance tickets are $15 per day. Normal admission costs $20 each day. Military and first responders get in for $10. Children and non-drinkers can still visit the boardwalk free of charge. Don’t miss this opportunity to spend a perfect weekend indulging in wine and culture!
