The Jersey Shore breeds a lot of greatness, from its beaches and boardwalks to its food. But let’s not forget about the Jersey Shore locals! We’ve decided to highlight some celebrities born at the Jersey Shore who, although they may have moved away to pursue bigger things, can always call the Shore home.

1. Bud Abbott, Asbury Park
One half of the famous Abbott & Costello duo hailed from Asbury Park.


2. William “Count” Basie, Red Bank
Leader of the legendary Count Basie Orchestra, Mr. Basie served as the bandleader on Frank Sinatra’s legendary live album – Sinatra at the Sands.


3. Clint Black, Long Branch
This country singer with over 30 singles on the US Billboard Country charts was born in Long Branch & claims Red Bank as his birthplace as his parents lived there when he was born.


4. King Kong Bundy,  Atlantic City
The headliner of Wrestlemania II, Bundy unfortunately lost a steel cage championship match to Hulk Hogan.

The Shining, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The Departed, Batman, As Good as it Gets, A Few Good Men, Easy Rider… Before he was a Hollywood icon, he was a graduate of Manasquan High School.

Rumson
Singer Charlie Puth has achieved overnight stardom in the past year, when his single “See You Again” with Wiz Khalifa hit number one for 12 weeks and received three Grammy nominations.
