Slater’s Deli, Middletown
If you’re from New Jersey, you’ve had the Jersey special: a pork roll, egg, and cheese on a kaiser roll. Well, suffice it to say, out of the thousands of places at the Jersey Shore that makes these, Slater’s Deli really stands out. Why? Let’s start off with the huge serving of grilled pork roll, the oozing fried egg, and the perfectly melted cheese on a delicious roll. The Molly Pitcher Inn, Red Bank
Well known for having one of the best Jersey Shore breakfast and brunches in the area, The Molly Pitcher Inn’s Sunday Brunch is extravagant. Reserve your table early for a chance to dine on traditional breakfast dishes like au gratin potatoes, made to order omeletes and bacon while also enjoying the more decadent dishes like poached salmon, leg of lamb, and oysters and clams on the half shell. We may not have the funds in our bank account for a breakfast in France, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy one right here in the heart of Red Bank. Whipped offers a large selection of sweet and savory crepes made to order. Edie’s Luncheonette, Little Silver
Edie’s is one of those gems that you could consider a local hangout. There’s nothing fancy about what they do. Simply put, they know how to cook eggs the right way and make some mean breakfast sandwiches that they serve all day. 164 Rumson Road, Little Silver (732) 842-964
Broad Street Dough Co., Oakhurst
Some mornings, a cup of coffee and a doughnut are all you need for a fast breakfast. At Broad St., the doughnuts are hot, fresh, and simply put – amazing! Next time you’re on 35, stop by and grab a cup of coffee and a doughnut (or 2). iPlay America, Freehold
You may be thinking right about now, seriously, iPlay America? Isn’t that the place with all the games? Yea, it is. But get this, they also have a brunch that’s out of this world. Try out Chef Joe’s game time twists on the classics like Chicken and Churros or the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Pizza. Sip on a homemade Bloody Mary as you let the kids run loose. Toast, Asbury Park
Downtown Asbury Park has gone to the hipsters and really we couldn’t be happier because Toast is one of our favorite places to grab a delicious Jersey Shore breakfast and brunch. Try out the Huevos Rancheros or go sweet with the Red Velvet Pancakes. Toast even gives some love those who are gluten challenged with thick and fluffy gluten-free waffles. Klein’s Fish Market and Waterside Cafe, Belmar
Enjoy an all you can eat brunch with views of the scenic Shark River inlet. Don’t be alarmed when you sit down at Mariner’s Cove and look at the menu. Yes, it’s way bigger than your head (and so are the entrees), but with a little help from the regulars, we’ve got you covered. Choose from over 200 omelets including make your own, or stick to a local favorite, the Pork Omelet where you’ll be consuming pork three different ways. A few years ago, Mustache Bill’s Diner in Barnegat Light was featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives for their exceptionally well made diner basics. In a state where diners are a dime a dozen, Mustache Bill’s stands out as one of the best, featuring Jersey diner food classics in a 1960s diner feel, complete with stools and shiny stainless steel trim.
