This Week In Seaside Heights: Jimmy Buffett Tribute, Bonfire, Fireworks & Much More!

Welcome to This Week in Seaside Heights!

Each week through the fall, we tell you about fun events and activities in the family-friendly resort just across the road from Exit 82!

Each week, you can experience a diverse array of exciting events, including free concerts, bonfires, movies, camping, and more! And of course, let’s not forget the bay and ocean beaches, arcades, restaurants, games of chance, and Casino Pier & Breakwater Beach.

Seaside Heights: Clean beaches that are continually voted some of the best at the shore, delicious restaurants, family friendly entertainment, and a boardwalk that will make anyone smile.

And now, this week’s events… 

August 1 – Boardwalk Concert Series, “JP LaStella & Co”

JP LaStella & Co describes themselves as “a highly entertaining, high energy band that plays a wide variety of music!. Check them out at 7 p.m. at the Carteret Avenue Stage.

August 1 – Bonfire on the Beach

Bring your beach chairs and blankets to North Beach at Fremont Avenue on Monday nights for a family-friendly Bonfire on the Beach. While the fire burns, sit back and enjoy the acoustic sounds of local singers and songwriters. The bonfire begins at dusk and ends at approximately 11 p.m.

August 2– Mom & Me Day

Bring Mom to the beach in Seaside Heights for 2-for-1 beach admission.

August 2 – Tuesday Family Fun Night

The “family fun night” series runs through August (the same program is also on Sunday nights). From 6:30 p.m. to dusk on the North Beach/Fremont Avenue, participants are invited to be a part of tug-of- war, long jump, hula hoop hurdles, Frisbee golf, and various other events. The center piece of these activities is our large inflatable obstacle course.

August 2 – Movies on the Beach, Jurassic World

After the Family Fun Night, stick around for a movie on the beach — Jurassic World — beginning at dusk at Carteret Avenue.

August 2 – Boardwalk Concert Series, Trustfall

Check out Trustfall at 7 p.m. on the Carteret Avenue stage.

August 3 (rescheduled from last week) – Tribute Band Concert Series, Parrotbeach performing a tribute to Jimmy Buffett

Bring your blanket or beach chair to the South Beach at Blaine Avenue for a tribute concert! This week it’s Parrotbeach performing your favorite Jimmy Buffett tunes. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m, but you can start arriving at 6:30 to secure your patch of sand!

August 3 – Fireworks!

Fireworks are viewable on Wednesdays everywhere on the Boardwalk at 9:30 p.m. Just pick your favorite spot and enjoy the spectacular sky show. Fireworks are sponsored by Coca-Cola. Rain dates on Fridays.

August 4 – Limelight Concert Series

From 6 until 9 p.m., at the Carteret Avenue Stage on the Boardwalk, local and regional bands will perform their original music for a grand prize. The finalist will be selected based on crowd size, crowd enthusiasm, and quality of musical performance.

August 5 – Tribute Band Concert Series, Big Eyed Phish performing a tribute to Dave Matthews

Bring your blanket or beach chair to the South Beach at Blaine Avenue for a tribute concert! This week it’s Big Eyed Phish performing your favorite Dave Matthews tunes. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m, but you can start arriving at 6:30 to secure your patch of sand!

August 7 – Boardwalk Concert Series, Strumberry Pie 

Strumberry Pie describes themselves as “the Jersey Shore’s hottest acoustic duo, made up of Deedee and Laura, performing covers and original music. Check them out at 7 p.m. at the Franklin Avenue Stage.

August 7 – Movies on the Beach, Shaun the Sheep

After the Family Fun Night, stick around for a movie on the beach — Shaun the Sheep — beginning at dusk at Carteret Avenue.

August 7 – Sunday Family Fun Night

August 7 – Boyd Memorial Swim

One-mile open ocean swim to honor the memory of former Captain John J. Boyd, former Assistant Captain Hugh J. Boyd, and former Lieutenant Joe J. Boyd.

Hosted by The Lifeguard Association of Seaside Heights. Registration begins at 4PM at Hiering Avenue. Swim starts at 6:30PM at Lincoln Avenue beach.

Sneak peak at an upcoming event…

August 31 – National Dog Day Celebration Guests are invited to bring their leashed furry friends to the Seaside Heights Boardwalk and Beach and participating restaurants and bars. Pet friendly vendors will be selling dog toys and goodies on the Boardwalk. Stop by and visit representatives of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit.
