As year-round residents at the Jersey Shore, we know all too well how fleeting summer is, which is why we must (yes, it’s an absolute), enjoy as much time as we can outdoors. That means taking in all of the best Jersey Shore outdoor dining experiences we can, whether it’s oceanfront, bayfront, or in beautiful greenery, there’s a place to eat all of our meals outdoors.
Our ultimate list of the best outdoor dining that the Jersey Shore has to offer is extensive, but we’re always looking for suggestions too! The more meals we eat under the sun, the longer we can make it through winter! (And as for enjoying summer to the fullest, be sure to check out our Local’s Guide to the Ultimate Jersey Shore Summer – it’s another great bucket list to make the most out of 2017.)

This stunning shore restaurant has scenic views of the Shrewsbury River to go along with some of the best food around. Whether you’re heading there for Burger Night on Tuesdays or Lobster Night on Thursdays, there’s always something in addition to the sun and breeze that will lure you to Beach Tavern (33 West Street, Monmouth Beach (732) 870 8999) any and every day of the week.
Rooney’s Oceanfront Restaurant, Long Branch
If you’re looking for Jersey Shore outdoor and waterfront dining, look no further than Rooney’s Oceanfront Restaurant (100 Ocean Ave, Long Branch 732 870-1200). We can’t decide which is our favorite thing at Rooney’s: the intimate dinner setting, Happy Hour, or the picture perfect view of the Atlantic.
Marlins Café, Pt. Pleasant Beach
Summer at the Jersey Shore is all about being outside… as much as possible. With Marlins Café (1901 Ocean Avenue, Pt. Check it out for lunch, dinner, and drinks and enjoy the sun or the shade all summer long!
Eventide Grille, Sea Bright
Sunsets and Rum Buckets, that’s what Eventide Grille (1400 Ocean Avenue, Sea Bright 732-530-1414) is made of. Sit along the water and indulge in some summer cocktail specials including their Sunset Martinis, Mexican Mojitos, and our favorite, the Sea Bright Tini featuring a delightful combination of Stoli-O, Peach Schnapps, and orange juice that’s shaken, poured, and then topped with a get this…champagne floater. Hello summer nights!
The Columns, Avon-By-The-Sea(seasonal)

Another chic spot in Asbury Park, Cubacan (800 Ocean Ave, Asbury Park (732) 774-3007) sits right on the boardwalk, just steps from the beach. Sit out on the patio and enjoy a glass of wine, some creative Cuban cuisine, and a great spot for people watching at this Jersey Shore outdoor dining destination.
The Boondocks Fishery, Red Bank(SEASONAL)
When we think of Jersey Shore outdoor dining at its finest, we tend to think of low key establishments that bring the best out of what they offer. At The Boondocks Fishery (1 Marine Park, Red Bank 732 747-7177), they do just that. Owner, Kelly Ryan goes above and beyond with straight from the sea dishes, all served on a deck on the Navesink.

Fresh seafood literally right off the boat – that’s one of the reasons why Oyster Creek Inn (41 North Oyster Creek Road, Leeds Point 609 652-8565) has been attracting customers here by land and sea for the ultimate Jersey Shore outdoor dining experience. Woody’s Roadside Tavern, Farmingdale
No, they may not be on the beach, but honestly, we’ve fell in love with their outdoor dining area featuring a large deck and countless picnic tables. Summer at McDonagh’s Pub (2 W. Front Street, Keyport 732-264-0999) means a few things… including six “Big Summer Cocktails” and a very relaxed Jersey Shore outdoor dining experience. It’s an opportunity to sip on Deep Eddy’s Summer Buckets, refreshing Cucumber Martinis, and Cranberry Mint Margaritas in their recently opened patio area.
Court Jester, Freehold and Aberdeen
Margaritas and slushies – they both scream summer! The fact that you can enjoy them outside and only pay $5 for each just makes summer that much better – thank you Court Jester (16 E. For some of the best sandwiches at the Jersey Shore, there’s no place that beats Jenkinson’s Pavillion (300 Ocean Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach 732 892- 0600) (especially their location – oceanfront and outdoors). Their beer battered cod sandwich is just one of our favorites. It’s casual Jersey Shore outdoor dining at its best.
