As year-round residents at the Jersey Shore, we know all too well how fleeting summer is, which is why we must (yes, it’s an absolute), enjoy as much time as we can outdoors. That means taking in all of the best Jersey Shore outdoor dining experiences we can, whether it’s oceanfront, bayfront, or in beautiful greenery, there’s a place to eat all of our meals outdoors.

Our ultimate list of the best outdoor dining that the Jersey Shore has to offer is extensive, but we’re always looking for suggestions too! The more meals we eat under the sun, the longer we can make it through winter! Featured in our Local’s Guide to Oceanfront Dining, Stella Marina (800 Ocean Avenue, Asbury Park 732-775-7776) is the perfect place to check out after a day in Asbury Park. Open with extended hours, it’s the perfect opportunity to sip on some cocktails during happy hour before dining on the boardwalk or the second story deck, complete with twinkling lights and the sound of the waves.

This stunning shore restaurant has scenic views of the Shrewsbury River to go along with some of the best food around. Whether you’re heading there for Burger Night on Tuesdays or Lobster Night on Thursdays, there’s always something in addition to the sun and breeze that will lure you to Beach Tavern (33 West Street, Monmouth Beach (732) 870 8999) any and every day of the week.

If you’re looking for Jersey Shore outdoor and waterfront dining, look no further than Rooney’s Oceanfront Restaurant (100 Ocean Ave, Long Branch 732 870-1200). We can’t decide which is our favorite thing at Rooney’s: the intimate dinner setting, Happy Hour, or the picture perfect view of the Atlantic.

Summer at the Jersey Shore is all about being outside… as much as possible. With Marlins Café (1901 Ocean Avenue, Pt. Pleasant Beach 732-714-8035) that’s easy to do thanks to their brand new outdoor patio and deck that was just completed. Check it out for lunch, dinner, and drinks and enjoy the sun or the shade all summer long!

Eventide Grille, Sea Bright
Sunsets and Rum Buckets, that’s what Eventide Grille (1400 Ocean Avenue, Sea Bright 732-530-1414) is made of. Sit along the water and indulge in some summer cocktail specials including their Sunset Martinis, Mexican Mojitos, and our favorite, the Sea Bright Tini featuring a delightful combination of Stoli-O, Peach Schnapps, and orange juice that’s shaken, poured, and then topped with a get this…champagne floater. Hello summer nights!

One of only two Jersey Shore waterfront restaurants in the quiet seaside town of Avon, The Columns (601 Ocean Avenue, Avon-By-the-Sea 732-988-3213) is a local landmark. Dine outdoors under the canopy on the wraparound porch, while enjoying daily specials and live music.

When outdoor dining gets wrapped up with sophistication, a cool atmosphere, and sweeping views of the Navesink River, you’ve got a successful combination. Stop in on Thursdays for Thursdays on the Half Shell where you can relax with a cocktail and enjoy the Oyster Point Hotel’s (146 Bodman Place, Red Bank 732 747-2500) clambake inspired menu with a view of the river.

Dine on the deck for a beach experience without the sand in the pants! Don’t miss out on Mister C’s (Ocean Place and Allen Avenue, Allenhurst 732 531-3665) martini and cocktail selection, which is out of this world, their Happy Hour, which doesn’t disappoint… we could go on, but honestly you should just check it out yourself. You won’t be disappointed!

Cubacan, Asbury Park
Another chic spot in Asbury Park, Cubacan (800 Ocean Ave, Asbury Park (732) 774-3007) sits right on the boardwalk, just steps from the beach. Sit out on the patio and enjoy a glass of wine, some creative Cuban cuisine, and a great spot for people watching at this Jersey Shore outdoor dining destination.

The Boondocks Fishery, Red Bank(SEASONAL)
When we think of Jersey Shore outdoor dining at its finest, we tend to think of low key establishments that bring the best out of what they offer. At The Boondocks Fishery (1 Marine Park, Red Bank 732 747-7177), they do just that. Owner, Kelly Ryan goes above and beyond with straight from the sea dishes, all served on a deck on the Navesink.

Fresh seafood literally right off the boat – that’s one of the reasons why Oyster Creek Inn (41 North Oyster Creek Road, Leeds Point 609 652-8565) has been attracting customers here by land and sea for the ultimate Jersey Shore outdoor dining experience. Get your hands on Atlantic Flounder and Grouper with a side of NJ Day Boat Scallops and you really will feel like you’re home is where your boat docks.

Woody’s Roadside Tavern, Farmingdale
No, they may not be on the beach, but honestly, we’ve fell in love with their outdoor dining area featuring a large deck and countless picnic tables. Woody’s Roadside Tavern (105 Academy Street, Farmingdale 732-938-6404) will have you feeling right at home in their backyard, except you don’t have to worry about clean up!

Klein’s Fish Market, Belmar
It’s easy to score a table with a view at Klein’s Fish Market (708 River Road, Belmar 732 681-1177) where the deck offers countless opportunities to soak in the sun, watch as the fishing boats haul in their catch, and listen to some live music during happy hour. Feel free to wave to the boats as you dig into fresh seafood dishes and enticing sushi rolls.

Head into Sirena Ristorante (27 Ocean Ave, Long Branch (732) 222-1119), where you can enjoy some seriously good, high-quality Italian food, paired with a glass of wine or cocktail. Their patio seating is somewhere you may find yourself never wanting to leave and if you’re lucky you’ll even catch a double rainbow after a summer rainstorm!

Whether you’re traveling by land or sea, Panini Bay Waterfront Restaurant (101 Parker Road Tuckerton 609 294-4281) offers an opportunity to enjoy one of the best Jersey Shore outdoor dining experiences that Ocean County has to offer. Tie up your boat at Panini Bay’s large dock, then make your way to their outdoor decks to enjoy tasteful Italian fare. Don’t forget it’s a BYOB – B can stand for boat, but we also mean bottle!

McDonagh’s Pub, Keyport 
Summer at McDonagh’s Pub (2 W. Front Street, Keyport 732-264-0999) means a few things… including six “Big Summer Cocktails” and a very relaxed Jersey Shore outdoor dining experience. It’s an opportunity to sip on Deep Eddy’s Summer Buckets, refreshing Cucumber Martinis, and Cranberry Mint Margaritas in their recently opened patio area.

Margaritas and slushies – they both scream summer! The fact that you can enjoy them outside and only pay $5 for each just makes summer that much better – thank you Court Jester (16 E. Main Street, Freehold 732-462-1040)! While you’re there, don’t miss out on their “Table Tent Specials” including a Crab and Shrimp Dip appetizer.

Jenkinson’s Pavillion, Point Pleasant Beach
For some of the best sandwiches at the Jersey Shore, there’s no place that beats Jenkinson’s Pavillion (300 Ocean Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach 732 892- 0600) (especially their location – oceanfront and outdoors). Their beer battered cod sandwich is just one of our favorites. It’s casual Jersey Shore outdoor dining at its best.

Have you ever dined on Twilight Lake? Probably not, but luckily for you, with the opening of Charlie’s of Bay Head (2 Bridge Avenue, Bay Head 732-295-1110), you’ll get to experience outdoor dining combined with contemporary American cuisine. What does that mean? Well, for starters you’ll feel the cool water breezes as you dig into dishes like their Tuna Poke Wonton appetizer, Lobster Roll, or even some classic Steak-Frites.
