The Top Jersey Shore Pizzas to Eat Right Now

First and foremost, we have to give a shoutout to some of our favorite local pizzerias. Whether it’s a sausage and peppers slice at Jenkinson’s in Pt. Pleasant on a warm July night or a large pie at (insert your favorite go-to pizza shop here) on our way home from our son’s Little League game, EVERYONE in NJ has a pizzeria that feels like a second home to them. So, before we delve into our pizza list, we just wanted to let all of our favorite places (and your local pizzerias too!) that they’ll always be on the top of our list when we’re craving that perfect slice of pie.

Now that we’ve gotten that all cleared up, our list is packed full of pizzas that go above and beyond the call of anyone’s normal pizza duties. We’re talking rich flavors, sourdough crusts, and ovens that are hot, hot, hot. So take some notes, because this list is going to be a little cheesy. (Oh and don’t even think about using a knife and a fork!)

Beach Tavern proves you wrong that two of your favorite things – pizza and seafood – are the perfect match. Try the Clam Pizza and you’ll know exactly what we mean. (It’s kind of like dipping your favorite bread in the clam broth – except the clams aren’t gone and there’s just a bit of cheesy goodness). 33 West Street, Monmouth Beach 732-870-8999

jersey shore pizzaMade in their 900 degree wood burning brick oven and served directly to your table, you may willingly burn some tastebuds once you take a look at the pizza coming out of Patricia’s of Holmdel. With a dozen to choose from, we’re partial to the Vegetarian Pie. With a mixture of portabello mushrooms, zucchini, mozzarella (and always add the eggplant and tomatoes), it’s a pie that is practically a salad! 2132 NJ-35, Holmdel 732-275-0234

Their pizzas, especially the Artichoke and Spinach Pizza (complete with roasted garlic and artichokes, baby spinach, mozzarella, Parmigiano-Reggiano, ricotta, and the thing that pulls it all together – an artichoke cream sauce) is just one example of how much we love their menu. 84 Broad Street, Keyport 732-497-5555

Whether you hang out in the summer with the garage door open, watching them toss in the pizzas or take it home, there’s truly nothing like their Brisket Pizza. Yes you read that right. Mr Pizza SliceMr Pizza Slice has accomplished a lot in the last couple years. When a town’s long-time pizza place changes hands, locals are usually concerned that something may get lost in transition. In NJ, we take our pizza personally and connect a lot of memories to it. In the case of Mr Pizza Slice, they didn’t lose that iconic local pizza place vibe – they just made it better. Mr Pizza Slice stuck to what worked for all those years and then started adding some over-the-top menu items that are bringing new guests in from faraway places. Job well done in our book. The Penne Vodka Pizza with sweet Italian sausuge and fresh basil is one of those new larger than life pies. 10 Monmouth Street, Red Bank, (732) 747-9165
