Point Pleasant Beach Dining Guide
Point Pleasant Beach has a rich history that dates back centuries. Originally called the “Land of Tall Timber” by the Lenape Native Americans, the area served as a ceremonial meeting place as early as 1500. In 1609, while exploring the coast, Henry Hudson and his crew took note of the land, with crew member Robert Juet describing it as “a very good Land to fall with and a pleasant Land to see.” By 1665, the first European settlers—mostly fishermen, farmers, and boat builders—had made their way to the region.
Today, Point Pleasant Beach is cherished as a vibrant destination for beaches, boardwalks, and inlet adventures with friends and family. Whether you’ve ridden the rides on the boardwalk, grabbed a drink at Martell’s, or cast a line from the rocks, there’s no denying the special place PPB holds in our hearts. That’s why we’ve rounded up a list of our favorite dining spots in the area—because great memories deserve great meals!

After several years, the stand was so successful it moved to the retail fish store and expanded it’s seating to 36 from the four original counter stools. The restaurant’s growth has been a success thanks to a devout local following cultivated under the current ownership of the Gyftakis family who remodeled the property, built a harbor-side outdoor patio and revamped the menu now firmly placing the restaurant as a Jersey Shore Institution. 75 Inlet Dr, Point Pleasant Beach https://theshrimpbox.com/ (732) 899-1637
