Calling all Jersey Shore foodies. On November 7th, the area’s brightest and most accomplished chefs will come together the The Fifth Annual Jersey Shore Chef’s Challenge at the Ocean Place Resort & Spa.
Presented by The Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce, the Fifth Annual Jersey Shore Chef’s Challenge is a chance to taste the signature dishes of the shore’s culinary talent as they battle it out in an evening to find out who can serve up the ultimate dish. Long Branch restaurants who will be going head to head include 2nd Floor Restaurant, Beach Tavern, Avenue, Rooney’s Oceanfront Restaurant, Mar Belo, Graze, Trama’s Trattoria, Mix Lounge & Food Bar, Tuzzio’s Italian Cuisine, Hello Chef, Fromagerie and The Ocean Place Resort & Spa.
[broadstreet zone=”54949″]Guests will join the judges in tasting each Chef’s signature entry for the event, that’s the easy part. The difficult part will be deciding who to cast your ballot for the coveted “People’s Choice” Award. The prestigious “Judges Award” will be decided by a distinguished panel of industry insiders including Lou Morreale from JBJ Soul Kitchen, David Strollo from What’s On Your Plate, Michael Sirianni, Principal at the Culinary Education Center and Brian Petersen Chef Manager, Rutgers University.
In addition to the evening’s featured challenge, some of the Jersey Shore’s best restaurants and institutions will rounding out the evening including Court Liquors, Shore Point Distributors, Breakthru Beverage Group and Dark City Brewing Company of Asbury Park who will be presenting their best and finest libations. Grand Tavern, The Windmill, Taste the Cakes, Culinary Education Center and Sodexho will also be offering delicious bites made especially for the evening’s events.
[broadstreet zone=”54949″]However, the Jersey Shore Chef’s Challenge is not just about the food who’s major beneficiary will be the Kay Guadagno Memorial Fund at Monmouth Medical Center (MMC). In her more than 35-year tenure as the Assistant Vice President of Community Relations and Ambulatory Services at Monmouth Medical Center, Kay was a guiding force in strengthening relationships between MMC and the surrounding communities. Her ties to the Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce were especially tight, and the Chef’s Challenge was a much loved event for her. The Chamber of Commerce along with Monmouth Medical Center, Investors Bank, Flowers by Van Brunt, the City of Long Branch Office of Community and Economic Development and Jersey Shore InMotion are also proud sponsors of this event featuring the best of the best at the Jersey Shore.
